I rarely buy the same brand of lipstick twice. And I rarely re-purchase the same item. But I have done just that with this delightful lip and cheek stain by Jane Iredale. I found the gorgeous Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip and Cheek Stain one day and was lucky enough to try it on in the store before purchasing. I started with the color, Forever Peach, and as I realized I was reaching for this more than any other lipstick I owned, I decided to splurge and get the Forever Pink, as well.
The Pros: Beautifully natural color. The Forever Peach is a lovely peach tone with a hint of orange and has a beautiful natural warmth to it. The Forever Pink gives you touch of color like you woke up having nibbled on a rose or a strawberry. Both the pink and peach also blend well onto the cheeks for a hint of natural, youthful color. It looks like a beautiful healthy flush of color to the skin.
The Cons: It wears well, but you will need re-applications throughout the day. It stains, as in the title, but not as much as you might want or expect. And it’s not cheap. At $25 a tube, this stuff is pricey. But when I think about how much use I’m getting out of it, I’m not upset. It’s doing double duty as a lipstick and a blush, AND I’m using it more than any other lip product I own.
That being said, I still love the colors and the wear. It feels beautifully smooth on my lips, gives me youthful natural color, and I’ll continue to purchase this again and again.
