Vapour Organic Beauty’s Atmosphere Soft Focus Foundation takes greatest honors here as one of the best foundations I have ever used. Quite a statement, but it’s legitimately true. And I found them all on my own quite by accident. I walked into a Pharmaca one day, an organic and natural pharmacy that carries gorgeous natural makeup and skincare, and I went home with a few generous samples of Vapour, W3LL People, and Glo. I can tell you the only sample that didn’t break me out was Vapour.
You do need to make sure the foundation is mixed properly shaken well before you apply on your skin, as the oils can separate (which is natural! Nothing is wrong with your bottle!) but once you figure out how to apply it, it is like smoothing on silky gold. It feels different than any other foundation I’ve ever used and only a few drops are necessary. The finish is very natural and breathable and a bit glowy. Coverage is light to medium but is buildable for heavier coverage. The best part is that it still looks like your skin. It is not a mask of caking agents, it is beautiful silky liquid skin. Your skin. But better. I ended up purchasing the full size bottle of this in one of the lightest colors, S110, which their website labels as very light with soft pink undertones. They have a multitude of colors and shades to choose from, so there is a good bet you will find a match!
I’m impressed with the ingredient list –and like I said, my skin breaks out form everything, so this foundation ROCKED in keeping the bumps far away.
Now, the site recommends using a face oil and a primer first before the foundation, but to be honest, I have used this directly on my face just after toning and it worked out just fine. I’ve also used it on bare naked skin. You should dot on a small amount, start with half a pump to one pump and add more to build a deeper coverage. I use my fingers to build and that’s the tool that has always worked best for me! I have oilier skin, so the finish on my skin was dewier, more satin than matte. I generally would set this with a finishing powder. (I make this powder —THE BEST FINISHING POWDER I’VE EVER USED) On a dryer skin type, I imagine this would be perfection. Even with the extra step I need because of my skin type, I still love this foundation.
Vapour uses 70% organic ingredients and 30% Essential Oils. The company has pledged commitments such as creating their products with renewable energy, making inner and outer packaging that is recyclable, and ensuring the product contains no nanoparticles and no irradiation. They are cruelty free, and suitable for all skin types, and especially good for sensitive skin, as I can attest!
Vapour Beauty is a lovely brand I’m excited to have found. Once I finish my bottle of Soft Focus Foundation, I might investigate their Atmosphere Luminous Foundation, which might be great for summer months. The company also has a gorgeous line of colors in lipsticks, eyeshadows, and multi-sticks.
Check them out!
